  • 1.  ODBCIS - PA 3.1.0-TechnologyPreview1

    Posted Tue December 30, 2025 03:30 PM
I'm encountering an issue with PA 3.1.0-TechnologyPreview1 when using an ODBC connection via ODBCIS. I can see my database connection in the TI editor, but when I click "Preview" to view the query results, I receive the following error: Drill-through process failed without returning a target object. My PA, ODBC and ODBCIS are all installed on the same server and
    ODBCServiceRoot
URL to connect to the ODBCIS service.  is configured in PAW as HTTPS://xx.xxx.xxx.x:5555/api/v1
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Surpriya,

The Planning Analytics Local 3.1 tech preview has been updated monthly.  The current version available on IBM Fix Central is 3.1.7 with TM1 12.5.9 and ODBCIS 1.0.37.  Might be worth retesting with the current release.

The most common cause of issues with the ODBCIS (ODBC Data Connector) service is SSL certificates.  If self signed certificates are being used the TM1 database will need to be configured to trust those certificates.

    Supriya,

In our case (PA 3.1.0 TechnologyPreview1 on Windows and ODBCIS installed on the same server), we used the odbcis/deployment/tls/client/cert.pem file included with the PA installation package and added it as a trusted root certificate.
