NOI integrated with AIOps on the same OpenShift cluster

  • 1.  NOI integrated with AIOps on the same OpenShift cluster

We are deploying AIOps in a TELCO environment.

We adopted a hybrid solution model, maintaining Netcool and Impact in the on-premise environment.

The client imposed, as one of the fundamental objectives of the project, the complete decommissioning of the on-premise environment at the end of the deployment.

The final solution to meet this objective that we envision is to install NOI on the same Openshift Cluster.

We have several questions regarding this solution.

    1. Does Netcool/Omnibus on the Openshift cluster have the same limitations on the volume of active alarms as the on-premises environment?

The expectation is to work with a volume of approximately 150,000 active alarms.

The volume of active alerts in AIOps has grown significantly in version 4.12. There is a reference of 800,000 alerts. Does this volume also apply to NOI installed on the Cluster?

    2. What are the fundamental differences in NOI between the on-premises environment and the OpenShift environment?

We have already observed that the JRExecAction function is not supported in the Cloud environment.

Where can we find a reference on the differences in NOI behavior considering the on-premises environment and the OpenShift environment?

    3. The OpenShift sizing was performed considering only the AI Manager. How can we size the NOI + AI Manager combination?

Sizing should consider the necessary workers and, mainly, the storage space.

    5. The implemented NetCool architecture follows the three-tier model. The decommissioning strategy suggested in Best Practices specifies only the Display Layer and the WebGUI.

Is it possible to implement the Collection layer and the Aggregation layer in the same cluster?

    6. What is the impact of performing alert enrichment via Impact directly on AIOps? Is there any study on this?

Thank you in advance for your attention and support.
