  • 1.  Multiple cubes in a table

    Posted Tue April 25, 2023 09:47 AM

    Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible to have multiple cubes in the same crosstab from a report??
So 1 row can come from cube 1 and the line below comes from cube 2.
I know that you can have more cubes in one package, so i think i would start from there.

    Best regards,
    Alexander

    Hi,

Unfortunately no, you can't mix data from multiple cubes in the same container (crosstab, chart etc). You are able to display data from different cubes in separate containers in the same page, and you can master/detail them (provided you are using consistent values such as captions).

You could perhaps create two data sets - one from each cube - then bring these into a data module and union them. You could then base your report on the data module and show all the data in one container. I'm not sure if this is a viable option for you though.

    Cheers!

    MF.

You can't make joins between multiple cubes, but you should be able to make a union with them. It can be a little tricky, since you have to have structurally identical outputs for both sides of the union.
