    Hi, 

    would like to understand whether Maximo Mobile provides a standard configuration to enable the Search feature on the Map screen, allowing technicians to search by service address and quickly locate the associated work location in the field.? Or does it need customization? 
    Looking for same feature on Mobile Map screen as available on Maximo Manage WO tracking Map.

    I've come across this requirement on Mobile implementations as well, particularly when comparing the Mobile Map experience with the WO Tracking Map in Maximo Manage.

    The key distinction is between filtering/searching the work records already available to Mobile and doing a true address/geocode search.

    Out of the box, Maximo Mobile can display work on the map and allows technicians to work with the records available in the application. However, the "search for an arbitrary service address and have the map locate that address/work location" experience available in Manage's WO Tracking map is not something I would assume is available as a standard Mobile configuration.

    Before going down the customization route, I would check a couple of things in your specific MAS/Mobile version:

    • Confirm the MAS version and Maximo Mobile version you're running, since Mobile map capabilities have changed across releases.

    • Confirm how Spatial is configured and which map/geocoding services are being used.

    • Check whether the requirement is to search for an existing Service Address/Work Location or to enter an arbitrary street address and have the map geocode it. Those are two different requirements.

    If the requirement is simply to find an existing work location, one possible OOTB approach is to search/filter the work records by the relevant address or location information and then switch to the Map view. This avoids customization, although it is not the same user experience as the Manage WO Tracking geocode search.

    If the requirement is specifically:

    Technician enters an address → Mobile geocodes the address → Map navigates to that location → associated Maximo Work Location/WO is identified

    then I would expect some level of configuration/customization unless that capability is explicitly supported in the Mobile version you're running.

    I would also be interested in the exact MAS/Mobile version you're on. If you provide that, I can narrow down whether this is available OOTB in that release or whether you're looking at a Mobile customization.
