    Hello,

anyone else using kubelet on AIX? the current available version (1.12, while latest is 1.29) is extremely outdated, can we have a newer version?

sure, it's a standard build envrionment which I'm working on, and so far the windows and linux OS is orchestrated via kubernetes. I discovered the criwpar and kubernetes concept, and so far it looks promising, the workload partition is already set up and functional, and I'm on the way to set up a linux-aix cluster on k8s, the problem is that it's so outdated, that it can't be brought together with windows worker nodes, where I'm tied to almost the very latest versions due to bugs.

    Hi Mate,

I think IBM doesn't want to invest money into porting Kubernetes to AIX because there is no demand for it.

this sounds sad :(. I'm new to the opensource part of IBM, but if it's opensource, is there a repo which is available for the prev. release?

The company did the port closed the department. They also closed all sites related to the project. I mirrored some information I could save and you can find it here - https://github.com/power-devops/bullfreeware/tree/main.

Another source of information is IBM's official repo - https://public.dhe.ibm.com/aix/freeSoftware/aixtoolbox/SRPMS/

If you build it, they will come... although it's a misquote, it contains a large element of truth:

A lot of the things that didn't come to AIX in the last 20 years failed two come due to two factors: lack of a wide FOSS infrastructure and lack of focus from IBM.
Get the focus, help build the infrastructure, and AIX will become another expectable playground for FOSS.
