At our facility, we have some Federally mandated (DOT) requirements when a specific asset is worked on. For these assets, whether we perform a CM or PM work order, we must perform a point-to-point inspection to make sure that the asset is fully operational. For our PM work, we have a job plan created where the parameters are set in the tasks. Our management is asking if it is possible to add job plans per asset, so if a CM work order is written, it automatically attaches the point-to-point job plan to each work order. Is this something that is possible? I know I can attach a record and have techs print and reattach, but it's not fool-proof and if a tech does not fill it out and we're audited, we could be fined for being out of compliance.

Apologies for my first response, I totally read that wrong. We have a universal Job Plan we can apply to CM orders, and we are experimenting with use Maximo Inspections forms to ensure our inspection criteria is always attached as part of the JP.

Sounds more like some script to me, which fills JPNUM on WO on some conditions - CM + assettype and/or classification + etc.

or

If You need JPNUM filled always, when WO is CM, then You can set JPNUM field mandatory on conditon, then tech won't forget.
