Thank you for taking time to read this.  An IBM consultant is telling me that with Db2 LUW version 11.5 IBM streamlined licensing with Virtual Processor Units (VPUs) in sub-capacity (not containerized) situations such that the need for ILMT in these environments is no longer needed.

I am looking to verify this intel, but I seem to be coming up empty handed.  I'm finding nothing that clearly states when ILMT is required and when it isn't.  

I have been reading through the License Metric Tool documentation for 9.2 and have been exploring the virtual capacity licensing on Passport Advantage.  The documentation for licensing of Db2 LUW v11.5 is not correct so I believe IBM hasn't updated it yet.

I did perform a search on this forum using terms such as VPUs, v11.5 and the results came up with no data.  Hopefully I'm not posting an already answered question.

Any links to official documentation that I can use to justify when ILMT is and/or isn't required would be greatly appreciated.

I finally managed to find the answer to this question.  In case anyone else finds themselves wondering, here's the answer.  First let me correct my original acronym.  It was VPC for virtual processor cores and not VPU for virtual processor units.

If my understanding is correct, VPC's did not originally require ILMT.  As of February 1, 2023 for new customers and May 1, 2023 for existing customers, eligible products using VPC metrics (in sub-capacity environment's) are now required to use ILMT.  

It appears ILMT was not mandatory for customers who were using the VPC per core metric, but since 2023 that is no longer the case.
