A challenging obstacle when I first got into tech, was building a network on LinkedIn. I knew that having little experience was a disadvantage, so I aimed to network during my 2 year learning span to fill in gaps and see other perspectives.
Here's my pipeline that has gotten me around 300,000k impressions in a year.
- Earn an IBM certificate (Skillsbuild, CognitiveClass, Coursera, etc)
- Share on LinkedIn (Make sure official IBM is tagged)
- IBM official "likes" the post, exposing it to IBM's 19m followers
- Repeat for every certificate.

I have noticed CognitiveClass certificates have received more impressions on LinkedIn. I've also noticed the format of the certificate does indeed have an impact. I have been monitoring how certificates from Coursera, IBM Developer, SkillsBuild, etc. each perform. I believe this can be measured using the analytics I have gathered.
One use case is posting the certificate AFTER releasing a demo. The traffic from the official IBM account will check out your page out of curiosity and see the demo. It has worked for me!
