Subject: I have PA on premise License.... what can i do with CA ?
Hi again,
Please find attached the matrix for the 2.0.9 release. This should apply to the 2.0.x releases, but in cases of conflict, the License Information documents prevail.
I should note that this is not an official IBM document and should not be relied on as legally binding. It is simply a tool we use to help simplify explaining the usage rights.
Hope that helps,
Leo

Leo,
I apologize for the extra work involved.
I still have customers in 2.0.7 , 2.0.8 and 2.0.9 who are likely to be slow to migrate to 2.1 (although this is highly recommended, and even unavoidable in the medium term).
So, if you'd be so kind as to send me the relevant matrices, I'd once again be the happiest of men!
Kind regards,
Philippe

Hi Philippe,
The matrix itself is specific to version 2.1. The licenses for the 2.0.x series has minor variations.
If you have a PA version in mind, I may be able to find a matrix that would help.
Regards,
Leo

Hi Leo !
Just one last very small question .....
You mention version 2.1 ..... I hope this also applies to PA versions 2.0.x?
Now I'm going back to playing with my Christmas present. ;-)
Kind regards,
Philippe

Hi Philippe,
Firstly, it warms my heart to see somebody reading our licenses. To answer your question, in addition to the functions that you describe above, every Planning Analytics Local Modeler, Planning Analytics Local User, and equivalent Planning Analytics Express user licenses allows use of Cognos Analytics to read TM1 data.
I have attached a usage matrix based on the licensing docs that should help clarify.

Hello !
For several years now, I've been wandering through the jungle of official Planning Analytics licensing clauses for the use of Cognos Analytics.
As part of an On Premise installation of PA, I know for a fact that I have the right to install CA, in order to use its authentication layers (Active directory, SSO, etc...).
I believe that a PA Modeler or PA Express Administrator has the right to use CA for the sole purpose of creating reports that attack PA and only PA.
I believe that a Modeler PA (Administrator PA Express) has the right to create and execute bursting (not active links, but passive reports such as pdf).
I would like to believe that non-admin PA users have the right to consume these CA reports.
I sincerely confess that if someone (IBM) could confirm/infirm everything I believe, I would be hyper confident in my communications with my current (and future) customers.
With my all thanks !
Kind regards,
Philippe
