How to set the minimum password length for Instana users in a self-hosted env?

  • 1.  How to set the minimum password length for Instana users in a self-hosted env?

    Hi,

The default setting for password length in Instana is 15, which is too long and I'd like to shorten it - sorry, 15 is ridiculous, as is the need to setup the SMTP server via the CLI only 😵‍💫 - my € 0,02

How can I change the minimum password length in a standard edition self-hosted setup? There is no documented or obvious way with stanctl.

    Many thanks and regards,

    Rainer

Hello Rainer, for the Standard Edition - have you tried using stanctl auth reset-password?
In my case, it allows setting a password with lower complexity, for example:
    stanctl auth reset-password --email=myemail@mail.com --password=geheim
