I have two FS7300's. They are both at 8.7.0.9. One has it's drives at 3_1_15. The other has it's drives at 4_4_4.
I may want to avoid 8.7.0.11 as that complicates ever going to 9. As per: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/concurrent-compatibility-and-code-cross-reference-ibm-storage-virtualize#_V8.7.0
Is upgrading to level 9 disruptive? I've done a few lower updates and it went very smooth. I'm trying to see if it is comparable to a VIOS update from 3.x to 3.y as opposed to a VIOS upgrade from 3.x to 4.a. That's a whole different process.
Do you recommend 8.7.0.10 or going to 9.1.0.5?
Two Power 10's at the site with drive firmware 3_1_15. One Power 11 at the site with drive firmware 4_4_4. The first site is using IBM Lab Services Safeguarded Copy for IBM i toolkit. And IBM Copy Services Manager 6.3.14.0. The second site isn't doing any of that.
Outside of the Safeguarded Copy stuff we are not using any other FlashCopy. We are doing software replication using QuickEDD.
