Event Studio - CA 11.0.11

    ​I'm creating a new event that will send 2 emails.
    I run a test of the event and it runs successfully.  I receive the 2 emails with the needed links etc.
    However, when I open the event and go to the email task it is now blank in the body area.  This is in both email tasks? 

    Has anyone had this issue before?

    You can try to attach HTML report with content required in Email Body as part of Email Task.

    That does not work.
    I have an event condition.  If that event condition is met I have 2 tasks which are 2 separate emails.
    I run this event, both emails get sent successfully.  I go back in to make a change to one of the emails and the email task is blank when I open it.
    I can add information back into it. Save it and the email again shows as blank.  It's very odd.​

    ​Hi @Jenifer Broughton, funny thing, I noticed this issue last week but I thought I did something wrong. We are on 11.0.13 and did not have any recent updates to Cognos. Let me try it later and document it but I am glad that someone else ran into this because I was thinking that I am seeing things. ​Not sure if this would be related to IE and some recent browser update? Cannot even use Chrome, as Evens in not compatible with it.

    Ok, got the problem! I am not seeing Email content blank out issues in CA 11.0.9 and CA 11.1.3 Environments on Cloud.

    Also, for Event Studio, we can't use Chrome browser as Edit button doesn't appear.

    Hi Jennifer, I opened a case with IBM as this issue has the potential to cause problems for my team. Very annoying to have to put back thee-mail body every time. It seems as it does not hurt my insertable objects, thus I do not have to re-do all the coding I have for the custom messages. I will keep you posted. ​

    Hi Jen. Can you post the browser and version you are using? 

    This looks like APAR111477 but it was resolved in R7.

    Are these you steps?
    01. Open the main page of Cognos Analytics 11.0.6 and go to New > Other
    02. Open Event Studio
    03. Choose a package
    04. Create an Event with the following expression: [Quantity] > 10
    05. Add 'Send an E-Mail' task to the event.
    06. Add a text in the body of the email.
    07. Click of the link 'Attach' to Attach the event list
    08. Click on the Link Add links...choose and add any report with output versions and click ok
    09. Save the event and choose any name
    10. Open the created event again.
    11. Click on the E-Mail task – the body is empty.

    We are using IE 11.1246.17134.0​​​ and for Cognos Analytics we are on 11.0.11
    I am following steps 01 - 06 but slightly different on from there.

    01. Open the main page of Cognos Analytics 11.0.6 and go to New > Other
    02. Open Event Studio
    03. Choose a package
    04. Create an Event with the following expression: [Quantity] > 10
    05. Add 'Send an E-Mail' task to the event.
    06. Add a text in the body of the email.
    07. Add a link to a cognos dashboard (single server environment) by using the 'Share' properties of the dashboard and pasting to the email < link details >
    08. Save the event
    09. Add a new 'Send an E-Mail' task to the event.
    10. Add different text in the body of the email.
    11. Add a link to a different cognos dashboard (single server environment) by using the 'Share' properties of the dashboard and pasting to the email < link details >
    12.  Save the event
    12. Open the event and the email task is completely blank

    I worked on this on and off for a few days.  I finally was able to save it with both emails populated, but it won't run again for a few weeks to see for sure it all is good.  I don't want to open it, just incase...

    Just a note.  I also tried this with one email task and a copied dashboard link (via properties and share) and the same issue appeared.

    Hi Jen.
    For steps 7&11. Are you just copying the link (or the iFrame) text from the (…-> Share) of the Dashboard and pasting it into the Email Body?

    Also it this a CA 11 Dashboard or a C10 Workspace?

    I am copying the http link text from the 'Share' frame.  I am then pasting it into the email body of the task.  This is a CA 11.0.11 dashboard.
