Datalink is being modernized to improve your integration experience

Effective March 31, 2026, Datalink Classic has reached End of Enhancements in all commercial environments.  Going forward, we are focusing our investments on the modern Datalink platform to deliver continued improvements in reliability, performance, and connector support. At the same time, we will support affected customers through migration with clear guidance, practical resources, and environment-specific planning.

Your existing Datalink Classic jobs will continue to run during the transition, and we will continue to provide support, critical security and reliability updates, and hands-on assistance for planning, validation, and cutover to minimize risk and disruption. There are no pricing or licensing changes, and our security, compliance, and data residency commitments remain unchanged.

    What this means for you

Modern Datalink is built to provide a better long-term integration foundation. This modernization improves platform consistency and reliability, reduces duplicated legacy tooling, and allows Apptio to deliver new connectors, authentication options, and enterprise capabilities more efficiently.

If your organization is currently using Datalink Classic, your account team will work with you directly on next steps. In many cases, migration can be completed with limited disruption, though some customers may require a short maintenance window for agent updates, connector cutover, and validation.

    What to expect next

We will share migration guidance in phases and provide more detailed documentation as it becomes available. If your tenant is affected, your Apptio representative will contact you with timing, recommended steps, and any environment-specific considerations.

    Our commitment

We understand that change can be disruptive. Our commitment is twofold: accelerate improvements in modern Datalink and support your team every step of the way. We will provide clear milestones and tooling, and stay engaged through validation and after cutover so you can transition confidently.

    Frequently asked questions

Why is Apptio making this change?
We are consolidating on a more modern Datalink platform to improve reliability, scalability, and maintainability, and to accelerate delivery of connector enhancements and new features.

Will my current Datalink Classic jobs stop working right away?
No. Existing Datalink Classic jobs will continue to run during the transition period. If your organization is affected, we will work with you directly on the migration plan.

Will this change pricing or my products?
No. There are no pricing or licensing changes tied to this migration.

Will this change security or compliance?
No. This transition does not change Apptio’s security controls, compliance posture, or data residency approach.

    Will there be downtime?
We aim to avoid downtime wherever possible. Some migrations may require a short maintenance window, which will be communicated in advance along with validation and rollback guidance.

Do I need to install a new agent?
If you use an on-premises Datalink Classic agent, you may need to update to the modern Datalink agent as part of migration. Your Apptio team will provide guidance if that applies to your environment.

What if I use DataDrop, CSV-based workflows, or exports?
Many of these workflows can transition without major redesign, though some updates to paths, credentials, schedules, or agents may be required. Your team will receive specific guidance if needed.

Who should I contact with questions?
Apptio will publish migration instructions and proactively reach out; contact Support only if you have an active incident. You can also view our help documentation for additional details.
