Hello Everyone,

We are in process of cognos upgrade from 11.0.6 to 11.1.4. Hence, we are validating reports in new version. We came across below error message on few reports. In these reports we are passing  numeric/decimal values through prompts for further calculation in the report. These reports are working fine in 11.0.6 but giving error message in 11.1.4.

Error message: XQE-GEN-0005: Found an internal error:<br/>Conversion = '.'

Source : TM1 cube for some report (DQM) and DB2 for some reports (Relational CQM)

Any idea how to resolve this in report studio.

Hi Everyone,

I was able to solve this issue but still not sure what was the root cause for the same.

- For the reports based on TM1 : I have created a separate query item to pass the prompt value and then used that query item further for calculation.
- For the report based on RMR package:  To find out the issue I took below steps,

• Ran each query in the report and found the query which was causing the issue.
• Started removing the query items from the respective query to find which query item is causing the issue.
• Created same query items into new query and there it ran fine. So, I just renamed the actual query which was causing the issue and it got resolved.

Not sure why but it is working now. thanks!

Hi Shailesh,

We had a similar issue when upgraded from 11.0.11 to 11.1.4 and also package took a long time to load. It is not a report or format issue. 

It is fine after installing the IBM sent us a specific issue-based interim fix for 11.1.4.

We upgraded to 11.1.4 in February.

Here is the list of defects we have noticed in 11.1.4 in case it's helpful. The biggest problem with this version are the issues with audit that you'll see in the link.
