  • 1.  Bob Coin usage faster than the preview??

Just judging usage here, but I am finding that the questions I asked in the preview versus the GA version don't seem to burn coins the same. The preview seemed to last forever, and that was when I didn't know what it could do. Now simple tasks are eating coins quickly. Do we know if coin usage impacted by backend load, more usage globally causes the cost of coins to go up, versus cheaper when load is low?

The early access actually refreshed your coin store if you gave feedback.

I'm not actually metering anything, so I have no evidence whatsoever, but I had the exact same feeling.

Interesting that you noticed it.  I had the same feeling.  I can't put my finger on it exactly, but it took me a few weeks to burn through 40 coins on the preview.  After signing up for a Pro license, I was out coins within a week and I think I was using it about the same.  The project I am working on has grown with BOB's help so I wonder if reading through the growing source is the cause.  I finally had to just sign up for Pro plus so I could keep working.

    Interesting to read this.
I do have a similar impression. I used the TechPreview for two months, where I refreshed my coin store once by providing feedback. It still would have coins available.

The Trial, which I'm using now, consumed 20% of my token within 3 hours of rather low activity.
I was mainly checking, how to configure my mcp-server and how to configure global skills, available to use that server.
After that I did some tests, may be playing around half an hour, to test the communication between IBM Rhapsody and IBM Bob via our SAM-rhapsody broker.

I know, that using MCP consumes more token, because it requires switching into mode "Advanced".

When really using it as a user in mode Advanced, talking to the mcp-server, I doubt the available 40 Bobcoins of a Trial and a Pro will last very much longer than 5 to 6 hours.

I came to this discussion group specifically to see if anyone else was talking about this. I used up all 40 Bob coins in the preview in less than a day of coding. The entry price point is comparable to Claude, but I use Claude every day and don't run into this issue. I do occasionally get throttled by Claude on some days, but based on my Bob coin usage during the preview, I don't expect to upgrade to the paid package.
