  • 1.  Beginning EGL Project Development - Help Text

    Many of the links in the various Welcome pages (such as "Create a hello world program with EGL" in the Tutorials page) take me to the Help popup, to what looks like a high level landing page for IBM Rational Business Developer Version 9.7 documentation.  Most of the links on that page take me to a generic "Troubleshooting the product help" page that seems to imply that the page in question is missing.  The only page that does work is the "What's new in version V9.7" page.  Is there a way to get complete help for RBD?

    The full online help is available at Rational Business Developer 9.7.0 - IBM Documentation

    Did you install RBD with the "local help" option?

    Thanks for the reply, Tom!  I don't think I installed with local help.  Is there a way to check?  And if I didn't, is there a way to configure the local help server after the fact?  I get confused because there is some help available, but other help says the server is unavailable.  The server it's looking for is http://www-01.ibm.com:80/docs/en/rbd/9.7/index.jsp.

    Hi Joe

    The local help option is only available during the initial install. Otherwise, the remote help location can be set in the RBD preferences

    I don't really have an opportunity to uninstall and reinstall, so that's not an option.  And when I change the URL to https://ww.ibm.com/docs/en/rbd/9.7, then hit Test Connection, the workbench hangs.  For now, though, I can just go to the online help.  And perhaps when I next get a chance to install, I can use the local help option.
