  • 1.  BAW product db

    Posted 05/31/23 05:41 AM

    Hello
I am working on the BAW setup and building 2 node cluster. Installing the product db on the first node along side the dmgr and 1st node.

Lets say if my first node goes down(server down), and i think this is going to impact the 2nd node as the product db wont be available.

What is the best solution as to where the BAW product db to be installed? or do we need to have some kind of secondary db available and in the background the replication should be in place?

    Hello,

The usual recommendation, for production at least, is that the BAW database be installed on a separate server. This provides for more resiliency in the event of a BAW node failure. It also more easily enables the DB team to implement their own HA strategy for the DB. Note that the servers hosting the DB need to be 'close' to the BAW environment so that there is a low latency connection available between BAW and its database.
