Hi Jacky,

There were no presentations or visuals at this month's Ask Me Anything session. Periodically a presenter would be visible, but otherwise the IBM team answered our questions with just the black screen. Still very informative.

One of my questions in the webinar was regarding text box prompts.  Whereas in prior versions of Cognos users could type values in and press the Enter key and have it flow over to the selection box on the right, in v11 it requires a mouse click on the right arrow to push a selection to the right.  Also, in general, when all required prompts were fulfilled, a user could just hit the Enter key and the report would run, whereas in v11, it requires a click of the "Finish" button at the bottom of a prompt screen. 

In the AMA, you mentioned it could be a bug, but I didn't know how else to follow up on this other than posting here.

Can you let us know about that?

There is a quick workaround, you need to disable "Run with full interactivity".

In Report (edit mode), go to 

Then disable the following (located in the properly under RUNNING & VALIDATING):
 
Note: this is just a workaround because I believe you are not expected to disable this feature on purpose.

I see, yes, that works.  It's just a shame then a user can't interact with the report and we get that more outdated UI look after making that change.  

I guess right now it will be a tradeoff between enjoy the new features and lose the keyboard functionality or gain that keystroke function and revert to an older style and lose the "on-demand" toolbar the user has in the html report version to sort the data as they like.

I think there may be some of our reports we have not updated to styles version 11.x that already have the older look and feel and we will turn off interactivity there.

Hi Ben,

When you upgrade report from Cognos BI v10.x to Cognos Analytics v11.2.x, the "Run with full interactivity" feature is disabled by default.
