    Posted 03/22/22 09:07 AM
    Hi Team,
We are planning to Upgrade from APIC v5.0.8.7 version to APIC v10 version VMware ( OVA) deployment.

Can you please suggest which APIC v10 version should we Download for the Upgrade?
and Which version should we use for the Datapower Gateways that goes with APIC v10. ?

Please provide the link for the APIC v10 version & Datapower version that goes with v10 to Download.

    Thanks!

    Hi Pradeep,

For v5 to v10 migrations, I would recommend you start by reviewing https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/api-connect-upgrade-central-v5-v10.

You should be able to use the latest APIC and DP v10 versions. For APIC, you do have to choose whether you go to LTS v10.0.1.x (latest v10.0.1.5), or use CD v10.0.x (latest v10.0.4.0-ifix1).

    Hi Sumanto

Thanks for the information! I will go-ahead and Download 10.0.4.0 version and Plan the Migration.

I notice IBM is Providing two OVA files for Example :

IBM API Connect 10.0.4.0 Enterprise Non-Production Multiplatform English eAssembly (G04R4EN)

IBM API Connect 10.0.4.0 Enterprise Production Multiplatform English eAssembly (G04R5EN)

    Any difference between them?

I would like to understand the implications incase if we use non-prod ova for a production server or vice versa - Will it cause any Performance issues?

    Thank You!

    Pradeep

IBM API Connect has different part numbers for Production vs. Non-Production software when ordering the product. These can be ordered in different quantities based on the deployment environment requirements. There are not functional differences (e.g. performance limits) between the Production and Non-Production OVA.

Non-Production Limitation - If the Program is designated as "Non-Production", Licensee can only use the Program as part of Licensee's internal development and test environment for internal non-production activities. This is described in the Licensing Information documents that can be found here https://www-40.ibm.com/software/sla/sladb.nsf/sla/home?OpenDocument
