This is a key factor behind our orchestration component and is essential to drive automation. Basically, the standard lifecycle model ensures that all artifacts (services, Virtual Network Functions (VNFs), Physical Network Functions (PNFs), etc) go through the same lifecycle states with defined lifecycle transitions and look the same to the orchestration component. This is achieved by wrapping all artifacts (from any vendor) in self-contained, version controlled normalised operational lifecycle automations. This allows the user to model the service rather by defining the relationships between the automation components rather than program its lifecycle workflows. The intent-based automation engine can then create an execution plan to bring the service to the desired state with no manual definition of the workflows.
