    There is also an good comprehensive AIX 7.2 Systems Admin book available.

    AIX 7.2, PowerVM - UNIX, Virtualization, and Security. An administrator's guide.

    by Sebastian Biedron  with roughly 450 pages

    It covers all the basics and some of the virtualisation details (PowerVM) the AIX is using on the Power Servers.

    Amazon price £40 - OK it is not free but a reasonable price.

    I can confirm that the book written by Sebastian Biedroń is very good.

    If you're interested in a free option, I also recommend an old redbook that still does a fairly good job of explaining the basics: 

    "Certification Study Guide - pSeries AIX System Administration"

    Some of the descriptions in this redbook may be outdated, but despite that, I think it should be okay to start with.

    I used to teach this class when we were still an Authorized Training Provider.  Too bad IBM scrapped the ATP partner structure.

    It seems that the article is on hold at the moderation stage. The administrator of the AIX Community needs to approve it for it to be visible (I don't know how to check who can do that).
