About a migration from IIB 10.0.0.7 to App Connect's current version

  • 1.  About a migration from IIB 10.0.0.7 to App Connect's current version

    Posted Thu July 11, 2024 01:30 AM

I am currently considering migrating from product  IIB 10.0.0.7 to App Connect Enterprise V12, and would like to ask some experts for advice.

    1. Is it possible to migrate directly?
    2. Can I use the bar file without modification? ( This bar file was made by WMB and was migrated to IIB 10.0.0.7 .)

    Please teach me .

    Hi Ken

It depends, is my best answer. There are some differences between v10 and v12, the need for applications for one. Just deploying a v10 bar file might work (with some caveats) but might not be the best thing to start with. Have a look here: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/iib-ace-migration-ibm-integration-bus-independent-resources-are-deployed-app-connect-enterprise-under-same-default-application

I would begin with planning the migration, see how you want to do it. In-place, side by side, containers, ...

There is a tool that can help you see if your v10 installation is ready for ace or if there are some issues that need addressing. Have a look here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/app-connect/12.0?topic=tasks-running-transformation-advisor-tool

Also go over this article first: https://www.ibm.com/docs/kk/app-connect/12.0?topic=commands-mqsiextractcomponents-command

There is also a recording by David and Ben that you might find very useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w06aw1vtrt8

Go through these, if you have any follow up question, feel free to post them here.
