Summary

In this webinar we will discuss the benefits of integrating popular open-source software tools like Python and R with SPSS Statistics. Users of these open-source software packages can handle large data sets from within SPSS Statistics and access powerful visualization tools. They also gain the ability to distribute integrated R or Python packages to a wide range of users who may not be as familiar with open-source software tools. This integration also provides SPSS Statistics users with easy access to a large set of open-source statistical libraries and functions.

Join this webinar to dive deeper into these benefits with our experts Curtis Browning and Jon Peck. Curtis will begin the discussion with a description and overview of R and Python in SPSS Statistics. He will cover three main integration points: programmability, embedding R or Python code within syntax commands, and how to extend the product via modular program extensions.
Jon Peck will discuss using extensions and illustrate this with a demonstration of the STATS TEXTANALYSIS extension command, which is designed for analysis of open-ended and “other” types of survey questions in combination with standard Statistics procedures.
