  • 1.  Issue with Missing Data Analysis (SPSS V.27)

    Hi,

I have faced an issue with missing data when I run the SPSS analysis (v.27). Originally, I have only 23 missing data with age, and I am looking to do Z Scores.
Problem: When I do descriptive analysis with all variables together, it shows that I have 73 cases missing with both age and all variables. For example, if I have 3 cases missing with box 1(age), and 2 cases missing with box 2(education), it shows that I have 73 cases missing with both of them (box 1 & 2).

So Is that normal on SPSS? and what shall I do?

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you.
    Regardss, Alex

By default, the DESCRIPTIVES procedure accounts for missing values  on a variable by variable b basis.  If you use LISTWISE missing value handling (only available using syntax), this is done on a case by case basis instead.

But maybe you have some user missing and some system missing values, which are shown with a dot in the Data Editor.  Please explain what you are seeing in more detail.

I often do different data analysis, and I often use various tools such as Sitechecker and so on. In such cases, I usually go to this site to know website stats and get full information. I also use this platform to get some rare and useful data for my reports. I think it's very cool that there is a lot of online resources for it.

What does this have to do with the question?
