Dear SPSS Statistics,
I struggle with displaying the results of my thesis. I have little to none statistical , SPSS experience.
Let me explain my goal as short as possible :
With 798 entries ,
1. All entries are divided in 3 groups ( 1 : Biomedical , 2 little biopsychosocial , 3 reasonable biopsychosocial ) , this is the function of the first variable, give each entry a 1 , 2 or 3 in which it is grouped ( Q51 )
Then there are 4 variables : Q99 , Q101 , Q105 & Q112 ( 4 question entries in our research ) which stand for an amount ( in our thesis : amount of nocebo's )
Finally In yellow there is a sum of the 4 values ( SUMNocebo = Q99 + Q101 + Q105 + Q112 )
I Need graph and numeric table with Q51 ( with Group 1, 2, 3 ) on X axis, and Q99, Q101 , Q105 , Q112 and the sumvariable on the Y Axis. Seperately is also fine. It looks easy. But it is impossible for me to fix this, I calculated all by hand. So I know what I want to see and different graphs keep coming yet still not the right one..
Q99 & Q101 were string variables , and I changed them into numeric : I suspect that this change is causing alot of trouble in making the correct numeric graph and table. Maybe the numbers arent corresponding to the values which they should have. BUT if i count frequencies, SPSS is able to make a correct sum. which tells me that the numbers are corresponding to the values which they should have..
I really hope someone can give me some good advice how to handle this problem , And I will personally put the finished graph below!
With kind regards,
Alex de Vries
