SPSS 27 (Win) - Graph - Variable 'Grey'd out'

    Hello all,

Apologies if this is an easy fix, but I've been using SPSS for years now and have never run into this before.

For all graphs, I can no longer input any item into the 'Variable' tab if it is trying to calculate the number, cumulative number, percent, etc. of cases.  It will allow me to calculate a 'statistic (e.g. mean)' but anything to do with the number of cases no longer works.

Anyone have any advice? Thank you in advance!

From the dialog help (emphasis added)...

Select one of the alternatives in the Bars Represent group to specify how the data are represented on the scale axis.

If the scale axis displays a function of another summary variable, select Other statistic (e.g., mean) and then select a numeric variable to be summarized. To change the summary function, click Change Statistic.
