  • 1.  Saving files SPSS 27

    Posted Mon July 13, 2020 10:43 AM
I recently updated to SPSS 27.  When I save a file, it no longer offers the option for type of file or whether I want local encoding (which I need to be able to save the file as a .dat file to use with MPLUS).  I am using a Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5.
Any help with how to solve this problem will be much appreciated!

You need to use File > Export or File > Save As.  Those let you choose the file type and encoding.

To close this out,  Statistics 27 uses the native Mac file dialogs by default, but this can be changed in Edit > Options > General

I am having the same issues. I can export but I've lost the ability to remove the headers and indicate which type of encoding I need.

Did you change the setting for whether to use native Mac dialogs or SPSS-specific ones?
