I am having difficulty saving a data file to a csv file. The SPSS 'Save Data As' dialogue box doesn't open. Rather, the standard dialogue box on OS opens. I need to save the file without the variable names. Any idea how I can fix it?

Hi. On the main menu go to Edit > Options > General.

Uncheck the 'use MacOS native dialogs' checkbox (I don't have the program installed currently but look about midway down on the right side of that tab). Then go back and try Save As... again.

    Hi,

I am having the same problem. In fact the save as window is now without the drop down list for file formats and variable section button, see screenshot.

I have already done the following:

    1. I changed the interface to SPSS standard.
    2. I have been using the 27 version, and installed the 27.0.1 fix pack.
    3. I tried the 28 trial version.

All of the above still results in the same issue. It had been working fine on Mac Big Sur initially since the OS first came about. However, after a few updates on the OS (now I am running 11.5.2), I wanted to use SPSS to save a subset of the dataset, I noticed this problem. Please help.

Sorry, you are saying that changing from native MacOS dialogs is failing to give you a dialog like this?

Thank you, Rick. The issue has been resolved (thank goodness!). I changed only the 'look and feel' to SPSS standard, which did not do anything than the 'look' of the windows. I have unticked the native MacOS dialogs option, which then gave me the window that has all things I expected.

    Thank you!
