    Hey guys,
    my problem is that I cannot assign a grouping variable for the Mann-Whitney-U test. I have created a group for this purpose, but it is not found by the system....

    Please help quickly as this is for my scientific paper.

    I expect that you are using the old NPAR TESTS command, which does not allow string variables for defining groups.  The newer NPTESTS command does allow strings.

    You can also use AUTORECODE (on the Transform menu) to convert string variables to equivalent numeric variables if you want to keep using NPAR TESTS.
