If you're familiar with agile frameworks (in software development or project management), you've probably heard of the
daily meeting (or standup, or daily scrum). This brief, daily meeting brings the team members together to check how they are progressing towards their current goal, thus allowing the team leader to make any necessary adjustments.
There is no one prescribed structure for these meetings (as long as they focus on progress and produce an actionable plan for the next work day), but a common format for them is to have everyone answer the following three questions:
- What did you do yesterday?
- What will you do today?
- Are there any impediments in your way?
As the team that runs the IBM Data Science Community, we're always curious to hear what everyone on here is working on, what you're learning, or what areas you're struggling with (and how we might help).
So, in the spirit of making progress together, let's try our own little standup:
Leave a comment below to let us know your current project or assignment. Feel free to share any interim results or lessons learned. And most importantly, don't hesitate to point out any difficulties or challenges you have yet to tackle and ask the community for help.
Go!
