Skills Lab ..????

    Anyone else having issues trying to get into the Skills lab ..?

    The last 2 days it just keeps spinning...

    i connected to skills network labs by using this website https://labs.cognitiveclass.ai but the the problem is that hit option is not working as charging the data, Rstudio and another tools

    Try to connect with IBMid.By using this you can solve your problem with R studio and any other problems

    I am always signing in with my IBM Id .. However it just spins rather than opening..

    Also, I have been using Watson, I was trying to get to the files I have saved since I have some code snippets that I would like to recover.. if I get in I'm going to just copy them out..

    Same problem here. It sporadically stopped working during the weekend. Now it doesn't work at all.
    I tried to log in with all kinds of users (Google, Linkedin, IBMid). Deleted cookies ...
    I contacted support yesterday but haven't heard back yet.

    I just gave up the IBM Skill Network Labs and I'm using the Watson Studio.

    It is my experience that the https://labs.cognitiveclass.ai/ lab works well with the classes offered through Coursera. Generally.

    I've been experiencing differing problems for the past two weeks and have opened multiple tickets. Yesterday, I contacted Coursera support and they said that it wasn't their problem, but instead it was IBM because it was their environment. They suggested that I run everything from my computer or just wait to see if it will be fixed.

    I wish I knew whom from IBM supports this environment so I could get a straight answer as to what is wrong and when it will be fixed. It is very frustrating.

    Tom and everyone else our Skills Network Labs outages have caused pain. My sincere apologies. You have given us your time and trust and we have failed you. We had suffered a perfect storm of turnover on our team and a failure of some critical systems at the same time just as we started migration to the new infrastructure. And to cap it all off, COVID-19 came in and ... we have had a what I would call a meltdown. I know this is cold comfort and no excuse for the failure but it is a honest account of how we got here.

    On the positive side, we believe we have stabilized our environment for majority of our labs at 5:30am this morning. We still have RStudio not working but we should get it to work in the next couple of days. If you are experiencing issues, please, open tickets. We will get to them, just not right away as we have several thousand of tickets to get through (we support 3.5 million learners).

    Leon,

    Thank you for the reply and the work that you and your team are doing to support all of us. Although we all would like there to be no issues with the environment, I think we would be more understanding if we knew the issue and that actions were taking place to resolve them. My above frustration was primarily focused on the lack of information being provided to the students and the apathy from the Coursera support team as the vendor we students have contracted with and are paying, to acknowledge any responsibility related to providing these services.

    I would suggest that IBM have Coursera either post your message on the status or send a note to all persons enrolled in the IBM Data Science program explaining the issue and the status to stabilize the environment. I would also suggest that they post/send periodic updates to the students on the situation. This would benefit their support staff by lessening the interactions necessary with students, and at least give the appearance of showing empathy for their customers frustration.
