    It's that time again to gather ideas for the Panel Discussion segment of our quarterly OVUG meeting coming up on April 28.

    Please post ideas or questions as replies in this thread that you would like the Optim User Panel to discuss. This is your opportunity to have your questions addressed by multiple panel members whom have years of experience with the software.

    Topics can be best practices, installing or upgrading Optim, how-to, etc., so let's get this conversation going!

    Keith,

     

    Support and or "certification of support" for hosting Optim on cloud infrastructure. We are in the process of shifting and re-provisioning all of our infrastructure to AWS cloud hosted infrastructure. Note* this is public knowledge.  While I realize that we could, in theory, put Optim on AWS and it would likely work fine, I want to know that it's supported and that Formal Optim Support will continue to support us once we shift Optim to AWS.  This is a big step for 3M and more specifically for our legacy archiving project (which is dependent on Optim). If we can't get the support for Optim on AWS then I may need to plan for alternative archiving solutions.

     

    1. Are there Optim clients/users in the group who have already migrated Optim to cloud infrastructure?
    2. If yes, what features? Runtime? Data Growth, Masking, TDM, Optim Connect?
    3. Are there Optim clients/users in the group planning to migrate to cloud infrastructure soon?
    4. If yes, which vendor? AWS, Azure, Other?
