It's that time again to gather ideas for the Panel Discussion segment of our quarterly OVUG meeting coming up on January 21.

Please post ideas or questions as replies in this thread that you would like the Optim User Panel to discuss. This is your opportunity to have your questions addressed by multiple panel members whom have years of experience with the software.

Topics can be best practices, installing or upgrading Optim, how-to, etc., so let's get this conversation going!

Thank you for your participation and input.

*** If you are interested in participating as a Panel Member, please contact Marc Hebert.

Recently we had a query about masking MongoDB. Optim does not support it (yet). I think a discussion about methods of supporting databases not with direct Optim support might be useful. It may need some out of the box thinking, like export to CSV, use CSV masking, reload the database. The topic might make for a good discussion.

We've just discovered that ILMT usage is mandatory for larger installations. Is it being used within Optim installations ?
What is the current status of ILMT integration into Optim Archive ?

    Hi Jan,

Yes, Optim supports ILMT. During installation, the appropriate .swtag files are installed in the properties\version directory under the install directory (for example, on Windows the default installation directory is C:\IBM\InfoSphere\Optim).

As well, for each fix pack, the installation installs the appropriate .fxtag files. This is interrogated by ILMT to determine the fix pack level being run.

Optim does not install ILMT. You need to do that separately. I believe you can get that from Passport Advantage for free.

    Hope that helps!

This is more for Peter than the panel.

I have asked this multiple times before and have not gotten an answer other than we will get back to you.  So here it is again.  When will un-structured databases be supported?  for instance, CosmosDB, Elasticsearch, Azure blob storage, etc.

Also what about graph databases like Neo4j?
