    Hi Ajay,

I am in same situation as you. We are planning to use IBM Datastage as ETL tool. We have a huge ETL process that need to be migrated to Datastage. I am looking for easy way to migrate. It will be really appreciable if you could share your experience.

    Kind Regards
    Gyan

    Hi all,

I am not aware of an automated migration service from one ETL Tool (in this case SAS DI) to DataStage. Without knowing SAS DI I would guess that both tools have a different architecture an set of functions which can not be translated 1:1. In last 3 years I did a Sagent 2 DataStage migration where we used Template Jobs (normal DataStage jobs with serveral columns named as Tags to easier replace them with find/replace after exporting them to a DSX) a lot and a DataStage Server 2 Px migration, where we used Data Migrators S2Px tool as a base on which we then manually amended the generated jobs.

In the end I guess you will have to code a lot manually, even if a part of the migration can be automated. Most important thing will be testing that the results will be the same after migration.
