  • 1.  Trying to create an "audit" view of activity

    Posted Fri August 16, 2019 09:46 AM
    Hi All,

Can anyone share their experience of creating audit information on who's done what on an Optim TDM system.

Have I got all the relevant tables?

    ·        OPTIM.OPTIM_AUDIT_RECORDS

    ·        OPTIM.PSTDBA2

    ·        OPTIM.PSTOBJ2

    ·        OPTIM.OPTIM_TRANSACTION_CONTENT

    Thanks,
    Barbara

What do you mean by audit? I have a script to gather all masked columns from covert runs.

    Thanks,
    Ed

    Thanks Tulasi!

    Hi Ed,

I have two use cases really

    1. To catch errors particularly around unauthorised activity

    2. To have a view of the amount of activity undertaken

    Thanks,
    Barbara

Unauthorized? I don't see how the transaction content can show that.

Activity? That I can help with.

I don't know if the attached file will come through. It is the query I use to pull CONV runs from OPTIM_TRANSACTION_CONTENT. It is 151 formatted lines, so I did not paste it here. I can upload it to the site if I ever have a second.

We populate a table with this every day and publish the data for the applications to review. They see the columns they are masking f for tables in specific databases.

Out of curiosity do any of these tables contain information on the queries executed using Optim Connect? My guess is no but thought I would ask. Currently we grab the NAV_UTIL logs and parse through them but would be easier if it was a table I could run a query against.

No, Queries are not captured in this table. You may be able to set traces and log them via Connect Studio, but we don't so have no experience.
