Informix 14.10.xc11

    Hi Folks,

    there is a new Informix Server Version 14.10.xC11 on fixcentral - but there is no fixlist,
    no what's new etc... 
    So the question is, what is new, what is fixed ?
    When will jdbc and csdk 4.50.xc11 is available... ?

    As Hedwig noted, 14.10.FC11 is also available on IBM Trials and downloads site:
    https://www.ibm.com/resources/mrs/assets?source=ifxids&lang=en_US
    requires login with your IBMid

    Only AIX, Linux (z, x86-64, Power), Solaris SPARC, ARM V8
    No Windows version yet.

    The 4.50.FC11 CSDK is there too, same platforms, no Windows version.
    No JDBC yet for any platform; latest is 4.50.JC10W1 still.

    Would sure be nice if IBM had some sort of mailing list for notifications
    when new updates are available instead of one of use stumbling on the
    update and posting it here.  Thanks to everyone here who post when they
    find new versions.

    I did not understand why there is a Informix Server 14.10.xC11 download on fixcentral (which is cool and new),
    but no actual csdk 4.50 and no actual jdbc 4.50.
    Why is there no complete download of ALL actual informix versions on fixcentral ?
    There is also no fixlist for that actual cdsk/jdbc 4.50.xC11...

    Hi,

    Client SDK etc are all at https://www.ibm.com/products/informix/developer-tools

    When I go there it and under "Informix Client Software Development Kit " -> "Try free edition" 

    it takes me to https://myibm.ibm.com/dashboard/ where under Software there are "0 offerings" !!

    Also "Informix Java Database Connectivity " -> "Try free edition"  take me to the same place!!

    Client SDK fix lists are at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/defects-fix-list-informix-client-sdk-v450-releases

    however that page gives 

    "Oops - that's not right!
    The page you requested cannot be displayed. 500: Internal Server Error"

    !!

    Can somone get these fixed?

    Ah, if you go to the regular trials and downloads site, everything is there and has been for quite a while. That is our central repository for CSDK and JDBC drivers. Earlier it was scattered around and hard to find. Now, in one place.

    the Docu Link from Carlton works fine - part of the Informix online documentation.

    For the CDSK/Java things I use the https://www.ibm.com/products/informix/developer-tools you recommend. (This page is not working under my MAC-Firefox Browser, Safari only)
    Maybe IBM / Carlton can't see internally the "special" way we have to go via the common trial link as profs to get the "not trial" products. 
    So I have to install a software package (CSDK and Jxx) from the IBM trial download page to run in a real production enterprise data center?  Maybe IBM Development can say it's a "wording" problem, but IBM Security will confirm, that does not conform to their IT-Security policies.
    But I'm happy, that I can download the client products so easily ...and let it ;-)

    To get to the trials and downloads page you have a couple options.  The first is to go to the main Informix product page (https://www.ibm.com/products/informix) and click on the big button that says "Try the Developer Edition."

    yes the Informix Download IBM service design workflow has not "stringent" for some years. The naming of the packages, too. Many DB Admins have the same frustration. Maybe an AI deployment tool can help IBM fix this unattractive behavior in the future ;-) . So we tell IBM again and again this issue - similar to a prompt dialog against a bad model. 
    For Info: the Windows64 FC11 port was not deployed until yesterday - Too bad about the time to look for him.
    And - sorry - my request about a Mac M* chip port has not been answered yet either. But you can push it to vote for my feature request.

    FC11 installation on Ubuntu has installation problem - there's no deb package for gskit installation. Same problem was in some older C release.

    There's APAR IT46540 and I'm waiting for SB or W release.

    informix server documentation (whats new in 14.10.xc11) is now up to date and there is a fixlist for xc11.
    But still no fixlist/whats new for csdk / jdbc 4.50.xc11...
    Still no download of windows csdk 4.50.FC11 on MRS

    I'm not sure we publish a what's new on the connectivity drivers since it's basically quality and general enhancements (i.e. newer versions of the underlying driver).

    There has been a problem with the latest CSDK for Windows. It's my understanding that it was uploaded to pre-publication late last week so is working through that IBM process.

    As far as the developer tools site, I really don't spend much time with it since all drivers, engine demonstration versions etc are available on the Trials and Download page. Over two years ago we published through the IIUG Insider that the T & D site would be our primary distribution location.

    I just went looking in my passport advantage for this FC11 for windows, it is still not listed.

     and click on the <Try the Developer Edition> link (or go directly to: Register for your software download ), log in there, and you can get to the download site.

    Hi Art, I had already tried going down the route of try the developer edition, for me it is still not listed for Windows:

    trial editions
    I thought the multiplatform installer may be it but alas no.
    Maybe it only shows if located in the U.S.?
    It would be good if passport advantage could catch up.
