  • 1.  snap connectivity problem from an Ubuntu 18.04 virtual machine?

    I just signed up for an account and set up an Ubuntu 18.04 virtual machine.  I'm running an Ansible playbook that (tries to) install certbot via snaps, as the certbot folks recommend;  the playbook worked on an Ubuntu 20.04 virtual machine in someone else's cloud, but it's failing here at the 'snap install core' step.  Checking snap connectivity, I'm getting

    jim@tlce:~$ snap debug connectivity
    Connectivity status:
    * api.snapcraft.io: unreachable
    error: 1 servers unreachable

    which doesn't sound encouraging.

    As I'm brand new it's quite possible I'm overlooking something.  Any hints?

    Hello Jim,

    Not sure if the Ubuntu OS version variance is making the difference, but it might be good if you could open a support case and ask the support team.

    [Get IBM Cloud support]
    Open a case via https://cloud.ibm.com/unifiedsupport/supportcenter  > Click "Create a case" > Opens form where user can enter case details.

    Alternatively, you can test out the open beta version of Ansible Actions in Schematics.  Our Offering team would be delighted to hear your user feedback too :-)
