HI All, I am new to ICP4D and wanted to understand the following:

            1. Should master nodes have higher memory configurations then workers?
            2. How many worker nodes can 1 master node support at a time?
            3. Can adding additional worker nodes help increase the number of users or we will need to add a master node to help support n users?

    Thanks
    SD

Typical starting point for a production environment with high availability is 3 masters and 3 workers
Minimum recommended size is 16GB for masters and 64GB for workers.
There is also an option for 3 node cluster where all 3 machines are masters and workers - not for prod.
    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSQNUZ_2.1.0/com.ibm.icpdata.doc/zen/install/reqs-ent.html#reqs-ent__3-node-x86
Masters don't need more RAM then workers.
Adding worker nodes does help increase number of users, yes. This also depends on what add-ons are enabled.

Thank you Adam. That is helpful. It will be great if you can help me with the following questions.
Is the installation of Proxy and Worker nodes any different then master nodes?
I am looking at the installation document but did not see any clear instructions of installing on Worker nodes and proxies.

Here are instructions on setting up the cluster on various hosting services on ICP (IBM Cloud Private)

    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSQNUZ_2.1.0/com.ibm.icpdata.doc/zen/install/standovu.html
    And here on Openshift
    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSQNUZ_2.1.0/com.ibm.icpdata.doc/zen/install/openshift-noicp.html
You can add and remove nodes in an existing IBM Cloud Pak for Data cluster. This process is also known as horizontal "scale-out" when you add nodes, or horizontal "scale-in" when you remove nodes.
    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSQNUZ_2.1.0/com.ibm.icpdata.doc/zen/admin/scale-cluster.html
Cloud Pak for Data 2.5 is out soon but there are no public instructions for the version yet. It will only support Openshift.
