I think offering management for CP4D needs to provide a road map for monitoring/alerts. There seems to be a lot of confusion on what is exposed to alerting systems including how best to connect with those alerts. I believe that the goal is at some point to use instana to help with monitoring every aspect of the CP4D including the cartridge. Clients and BP are looking at what is the minimum available in terms of monitoring, i.e. services, CP4, memory, etc.
I have also heard that clients can use existing monitoring tools to help with monitoring, i.e. remendy or other tools

Hello Mr. Naseeb,
so you suggestion is to buy and install another IBM application in order to successfully monior IBM CP4D ? Why does CP4D not come out of the box with best practices and easy monitoring ?

Hello,
I am not sure if this has been integrated with IBM CP for Systems but that should be the way out. Please reach out and have a discussion with WAIOPs team. Watson AI Ops team's mission is the optimise, and automate the monitoring of logs and operations at the IT systems level.
Hope this helps!
Kind Regards.

I have done digging into CP4 Data systems. I was able to find information on configuring alerts and monitoring.
List of SNMP traps, severity, and descriptions.

I am looking for more information on consuming of the alerts, i.e. file management, or a complete list of the alerts that CP4D provides for CP4 data systems
I would also be interested in any tips/tricks and/or best practices IBM BPs or others have set up to help manage the alerts within Cloudpak for data systems.
