    Let's get this jam started!

Cloud Pak for Data provides its users with a customized home page based off the products you use and your role. The screenshot below is an example that I see on my Cloud Pak for Data, but what you see is likely a bit different!

🎟 For 1 raffle entry, tell us what you think about the homepage. Do you use it? How could the homepage be improved to provide more value to you?

It's very nice and I can see everything I need to use the product. Is there a link to the CP4D Community somewhere on there so that I can engage with other users and learn from them?

    Hi William.

You currently have your settings to alert you to new posts in real time. Today we had a special Innovation Jam event that generated a considerable amount of forum traffic. If you prefer, you can change your settings so you only get notified in the Daily Digest rather than in real time; that way you'd just get notified once a day when there's a spike like this.

Let us know if you need any more help!

Let me know if that doesn't work.

You can also get to the notifications by clicking the bell icon in the toolbar. If notifications are enabled, the icon should be available anywhere in the UI.

Generally it has everything we need. It would be nice if you could flag action items for yourself to come back to later and have them appear on the homepage. Perhaps a job was running, or you want to follow up on something.

I would love to see this home page tell us more about what is actually installed, like the version and all enabled services without having to dig into the services screen or go to the "about" screen.
Also, although an admin can customize the screen with a name and icon, how about allowing any user to customize the Carbon X theme where they can choose their own? I personally have never liked the dark themes at all.

@Burt Vialpando It's not exactly what you're asking for, and it's on the home page, but there are a few ways to get a sense of what is installed on Cloud Pak for Data. What you can see depends on your permissions on the platform:

Thanks Julia. But I already knew that, that is why I said "without having to dig into the services screen..."  I think one tile with a simple declaration of the version of the CP4D install along with a list of the enabled services on the Home Page would be a nice "welcome" to those who are new to Cloud Pak for Data. I have noticed that when someone new logs into a CP4D install for the first time, they are a bit puzzled by what they can do. Without knowing how to navigate through the Services page, they are pretty much in the dark. Even experienced users who know how to do this would find this handy if they are in the habit of logging into different CP4D clusters. One tile saying what is actually in that install would be a nice way of knowing the environment they are working in.

Overall I do like the design. We have come a long way.   One question, is there a mechanism for us to be able to add 3rd party certified add-ons, example senzing, to the home page when a customer has purchased and installed that add-on?  I know we did something unique for Palantir , but it would be great if we had something more automatic for other 3rd party certified adons.

Beth, I believe that the 3rd party would need to use the Home page cards API (https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/SSQNUZ_3.5.0/dev/custom-kpi.html) to provide cards with their software.

As my CP4D is running on several pods, I'd like to see a bit about availability and load on my pods.
In DMC all the widgets are also available via REST services, I have no clue, if these boxes in the Overview section could also be made available as reusable elements and could be used to build your own homepage (and also not only in the night vision color scheme, but also in a white design).

The home page looks great. Just a couple of recommendations:
    1. Currently, the top banner area has some static text and the corresponding links in that section is already in quick navigation. So it's kind of duplicate. We could have the static text replaced by the Quick Navigation links.
    2. The Support section could go horizontally at the bottom like a Footer (similar to how you see links in the footer section on homepage of ecommerce websites). This would allow for better space management in the center of the screen to place more cards and create a dashboard experience.
Overall, we do offer a great user experience and I love the color scheme used.
