    Hi!

We have deployed PA 4.5.2 technical preview on CP4D v4.5

To test the installation awe would like to deploy the standard TM1 sample databases - SData, Go_New_Stores, Go_Scorecards, 24Retail etc....

Has anyone managed to successfully deploy the sample databases?

The TM1_installation_location \samples\tm1 location does not appear to exist on CP4D and we cannot find a CP4D version of the below steps -

     Cognos TM1 sample databases installation

    Thank you!

    Chris

You may have to grab the samples from PA 2.0.x and migrate them.

    Hi Chris,

Typically I only install 24Retail if possible as this contains Planning Analytics TM1 Server objects as well as Workspace related content. I'd be surprised if these demos survive the migration considering the step change that is coming with v11

Outside of our own custom demos I tend to use the newer demos from the Accelerator catalog; Scope 3 Emission and Cost model and R6 Sustainability in particular

    https://community.ibm.com/accelerators/?context=analytics&product=IBM%20Planning%20Analytics%20with%20Watson

If you are going to migrate models as per the link Walter provided then it may as well be on those samples which cover all the bases and are already hierarchy aware to avoid potential issues

Not an answer to your question I know! I'd be interested to hear how you get on, as it stands I think I'll be pushing content up via the Odata REST API

    Hello Chris,

I think the first requirement stipulated by

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cloud-paks/cp-data/4.5.x?topic=mpaetp-preparing-planning-analytics-version-11-database-migration-planning-analytics-engine-technical-preview
Preparing a Planning Analytics version 11 database for migration to Planning Analytics Engine

    Procedure
    1. Ensure that cube, rule, and feeder filename stems are identical in case. (For example, if your database includes Cube1.cub and cube1.rux, change the rule filename to Cube1.rux.

has nothing to do with TM1 Server v11 vs TM1 Server v12 aka Planning Analytics Engine (PAE), but instead is tied to the platform respectively Operating System (OS) running the TM1 Server software:
On Windows, names of files and folders are case insensitive. Thus CUBE.cub and cube.rux all refer to the same object.
But on Linux, names of files and folders are case sensitive. Thus CUBE.cub and cube.rux refer to two different objects.

This is a known issue with TM1 Server v11 when you move an instance's database directory from Windows to Linux. To address this issue the current TM1 Server v11 software includes the tm1xfer tool. Older releases of the TM1 Server software included the utol tool.

    tm1xfer

The tm1xfer utility compresses and moves TM1 server objects from one platform to another platform while preserving mixed case names for objects on both Microsoft Windows and UNIX platforms.

Re: Migrate TM1 DB from Windows 08R2 to Linux RedHat 6.5

Find attached the TXT-file "utol.txt". Copy it to your Linux box into your TM1 server's database directory, rename it into utol.exe or utol.sh and make it executable be setting the executable-bit. If you run the utol script it will convert all filenames and directory names into lowercase.

    Hi,

Thank you all for your guidance.

I resolved this issue by migrating the models using the following steps before creating and deploying the backup on PA deployed on CP4D.
