    Hi Nitin,

You will need to review and accept the license agreement. There are some cluster scale limitations in this edition, e.g. number of nodes, max number of cores on each node, max number of jobs to run, etc. You may not be able to use some advanced scheduling features. It would be better if you can share more detail how you want to use LSF.

    Regards,

    Yi

Unfortunately that page states it is  "FULLY INTEGRATED.....: and only mentions the node and job limitation.

IBM Spectrum LSF Suite Community Edition is a no-charge, fully-integrated solution for High-Performance Computing featuring cluster provisioning and management, workload scheduling, application-centric portal and an MPI library (x86-64 only). The software may be installed using the native installers or the included cluster manager. This edition can be downloaded, installed and used at no charge, and supports up to 10 nodes and 2500 jobs.

Download IBM Spectrum LSF Suite Community Edition, a fully licensed product available at no-charge for the community.

In reality people spent a lot of time on this to discover that it does not support the resource connector.

To add to Larry's comment, there are no fix packs/updates for Community Edition.  CE does not include certain features of LSF including resource connector, MultiCluster and advanced scheduling functions.

It is clearly stated in quick start guide.

The following LSF components and features are disabled in LSF Suite Community Edition:
    – LSF Connector for Kubernetes
    – LSF Data Manager
    LSF resource connector

    Hi Yi,

    Thanks for the quick reaction.
Indeed it is my bad, unfortunately when you are installing it for the first time not all component names and architecture things are clear.
I'm installing the CE to learn, and that is what I did. It is a lot looking at the 3000+ pages in "spectrum-lsf-10.1.0-documentation.pdf."
and I now understand that "Enabling LSF resource connector for Amazon Web Services (AWS)" on page 2781 is not the opposite of something that is disabled.

    Sorry,

    Andre,

Everyone has to start somewhere.  LSF is a great tool, but the depth of it's features will take you a while to fully comprehend.  I've been using it now for close to 20 years, and I can tell you I'm still not at the bottom of the hole.

Also after I spend 2 whole days to install it I found the PAC version is Basic Edition, rather than Standard Edition and the reason why I want to install LSF Application Center is to test it's RESTful API because we're developing a software which integrate the job submittion and calculation result analysis in the same software.

2 days ago when I looked at the limitations I think it only limits the cores number or jobs number....I thought I can install Standard Edition and test it's API. And also I looked at the package names it says "pac10.2.0.12_standard_linux-x64.tar.Z".....So I told my boss I can do it. Now I find I cannot setup a API test environment.

So sad and frustrating. Anyone have suggestions?

I would get a fully functional evaluation copy.  Reach out to jswelch@us.ibm.com.  He can start the process.  If you agree to IBM's terms, you can get a full LSF Suites for XXX install for X days.
