A client told me that she received an error message when she tried to convert a cube view in Viewer in PAfE to a custom report. However, the conversion did not complete, and she received the error message below. Please let me know if you have seen this error message and know how to fix the issue.

The client uses PA Cloud and I believe that her PAfE version is 2.0.82.

    Thanks,
    Kong

    Hi Kong,

The report from the cube viewer could be saved as the Exploration only for full support.
But the Custom report should be saved and not generate this error.

    Hi Svetlana,

I am getting the same error, but I believe I am in an entirely different situation.

In my case, my client is getting this error when working in PAfE also, but they have a macro that is called, which generates the quick report, from an IBM action button that is on the sheet. 8-9 times out of 10, this issue is non-existent. However, the client has seen it & I actually just got the error for the first time myself.

The "Working" box (see below) will spin for minutes at times, which is then followed up by the below error message. However, once I click "OK", the report will load in exactly how it is supposed to with no actual errors. "Project by Employee Input" is the Cube, "vwEmployeeByProject1" is the view, & "Project Sheet" is the Excel sheet's name.

The client uses PA Cloud and I believe that their PAfE version is 2.0.82. Do you know the root cause of this issue and/or how to fix it by chance?

It is best to pursue a case with IBM support if this persists with the current version of PA for Excel.

A couple of things I'll point out here though:

failure code/message may be identical but each reporting mode is significantly distinct (Custom Reports or Explorations vs Quick Reports)
a log files bundle (with the PA for Excel log level turned up) will contain additional details (support can advise on its collection)

    Hi Ted,

Thank you for your quick response! I will open a support case with IBM in regards to the error.
