  • 1.  Does anyone know how to save my dashboard files in Cognos? even if I save it and reenter it deletes it, what do i need to do? or configuration thing?

    It seems to be the trial version. Try to save as to My Content...

    Actually that was the first thing I tried. Any other suggestions? is it bec its a trial version?

    Actually, I tried saving it to content file first. any other suggestions to save cognos dashboard file. thanks pam

    Hi Pam,

    I believe I understand (now) what you are trying to do...

    You need to save your dashboard then click on the Share icon
    Then you will choose Export:

    You will be able to export the dashboard as a PDF file.

    Hello again, I tried all methods and none of them worked. 

    1) the export to PDF never comes up
    2) the link data doesn't stay the same once you bring it up again
    3) the email pdf doesn't actually send you an email with the PDF

    I have already put a thread on the coursera forums and no response. I can try the configuration thing in morn. But frankly, its easier to create a dashboard then to save it to share to with others! Please advise. thx pam

    Hi Pam, I cannot say for certain, but on the face of it, this appears to be a configuration thing.

    More specifically that your account may have been granted a 'role' with a limited access to features and functionality, which may or may not have been configured to restrict you from saving artifacts and modifying existing dashboards created by others.

    To confirm whether this is your situation, you will need to reach out to whomever your contact is for administration of your Cognos Analytics on Cloud environment. If you're not sure who that is, and you're doing one of the Coursera courses, reach out to the course contact provided in Coursera to see what they can do.
