I can't ask anything until I've had hands on labs, tutorials, and practice exercises.  Your approaching me pre-maturely.  I also don't have the tools to work with laptop, resources, CPU).

This is not a response to a customer service feedback request; anyone treating it as such is guilty of fraud.  You also need my permission to share or distribute my response.  You don't have permission to share or distribute my response.  My response is confidential to IBM's Planning Analytics.

    Respectfully,

    Hi,

My colleague found a news article online which states that Microsoft are looking to block XLL files in Excel, that are downloaded from the internet and this update will have a target release of March for Office 365 customers.

    News Article -
    https://www.theregister.com/2023/01/25/microsoft_excel_xll_closed/
    &
    https://www.infosecurity-magazine.com/news/microsoft-excel-xll-add-ins-stop/

    Microsoft Excel Roadmap - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=115485

My first impression is this is purely to stop those XLL files which are installed by clicking on them via a browser and hopefully does not prevent them from being installed locally (i.e. PAX).

Are IBM aware of this and will this impact the way PAX is installed for customers, given that this is now an XLL file based released?

    Thanks
    Ian Moy (MHR)

Yes, we're aware of this and our understanding matches your own expectation. It applies specifically to XLL files being delivered over the internet (you may have seen files marked as such elsewhere in Windows or Office).

We'll be watching closely as it approaches.

    Hi Mike and team,

Firstly, can I just say thanks very much to yourself, Stuart, and Leo for a very thorough answer to my question last month on Express licensing. It's a great service to be able to get access to guys like yourselves for these kinds of topics. Now! - next question! - After April, Mirantis become the supplier of Docker, now called "Mirantis Container Runtime" or "MCR" for short. We have several customers using PAW, and my understanding is that once any of these customers upgrade their Docker version, then we need to start paying money to Mirantis. So, my question is, how will we know when a new Docker version is required? The 2 main situations I'm thinking of are 1) Installing new PAW versions as they become available on Fix Central 2) Doing full upgrade of PA using download from Passport Advantage. I want to avoid the situation where we are part-way through an upgrade and then suddenly find out that we require a new Docker version.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Mark

    Hi,

when creating snapshots through Lifecycle manager, there is a limit of 100 items.

Is there any possibility that this limit could be increased, as we have reached the limit and creating 2 snapshots is a little inconvenient.

    regards,

    Mark

    Hi,

I would like to see some further development around Applications, specifically, where you can nest applications inside each other.

For example, you select an application and it takes you into another set of applications.

    regards,

    Mark

    Hi

Could you comment on the following item which is in the Roadmap, targeted for Q2?

"Synchronize Parameters in MDX Statements | Support complex synchronizations by allowing parameterized MDX statements to drive synchronization between widgets".

Does that mean user-specific selections in selector widgets can directly be used in MDX statements without the need to store the selection in a cube in order to be able to use it in a MDX statement? For example, a user selects a year in a selector widget and the selected year can be used as a parameter in the cube view MDX , for example to show the last 3 years based on the selected year?

Or am I interpreting this wrong?

    Thank you!
    Mario
