As far as I know the mht format used for Active reports only work for MS Internet Explorer.

    Hi Bill,

It's been a while and I no longer use a Mac, but Chrome has an extension for MHTML viewing that you can use I believe.  I found another tool that can view this file type but have not tested it.

    EML, MHT Viewer with Drive
    Google remove preview
    EML, MHT Viewer with Drive
This utility parses and displays EML(mail message), MHT files. Inline images are displayed both as attachments and in the HTML.

    Langui.net remove preview
    MHT Viewer
MHT Viewer is a handy MHT (MHTML, MIME HTML) document viewer/reader.

HI Todd, there does not seem to be a  MHTML extension gor Chrome in the Mac version and the application you suggestion will not work on the Mac version of Chrome either.

    Hi Bill,

I can not longer test as I don't have a Mac now, but I recall being able to do this.

Another option would be to install Parallels and run a Windows VM to use IE.

Has anyone at IBM stated the future of Active Reports?

I discussed this with someone at IBM at the last conference in Miami.  My understanding was that Active Reports are basically a dead product at this time.  They will continue to support and offer functionality for AR, but there will be no more development or enhancements to this tool.

This was due to limitations around file size and improvements to the dashboard that bridge the gap on interactivity between visualizations.  I still think there needs to be a way to take a Cognos report/dashboard offline for viewing but a tool to do so does not exist today.

    Hi Chris,

Active reports will be maintained without enhancements. Our goal is to provide interactive reports through regular reports or dashboards. We will also look for an offline solution using either regular reports or dashboards as a long term goal.
For the existing mht files, we plan to find a way to convert them to a more generic format that can be consumed by all browsers. This is currently being worked on.
