Hello, my name's Leonardo Machado and I'm a college student from Brazil.
I'm using Cognos Analytics free trial for students to make a college project about Organ Donation.

My group's ideia is to use Cognos for a real-time monitoring dashboard that will display data like 'how many organs were transplanted today' comparing this data to the past days. The data won't be real, we will create samples in excel or oracle SQL Developer to make a simulation.

The problem is: we don't know how to make cognos automatically refresh the data from the database or from a system local file. The only way we found to refresh was by clicking 'Replace File' and selecting it, which not helps.

Can anyone give us a hint? A video or a tutorial would be VERY helpful!

    Thanks!

    Hi Leornado
There is an option to Automatic Refresh in the chart properties, you can set the interval.
    Thank you

    Hi Leonardo,

If you are using a database as your source then you will get latest data but if you are using excel files as a source then there is not inbuilt functionality to schedule excel data but you can do it with Jupiter notebook if you have it installed on Cognos.

    Thanks
