  • 1.  Report Prompt Page not Appearing

    CA 11.0.13

    Since upgrading to CA 11.0.13, we are having issues where on occasions certain reports will not get to their prompt page or it will suddenly appear if left alone after waiting 10+ minutes.
    This did not happen for the same reports on Cognos BI 10.2.2.

    It does not seem to be browser related.
    Also, this is the case for simple date prompts too (where in my understanding, Cognos has not even reached out to the database yet).

    We have tried clearing browser cache and renewing credentials.
    Any other thoughts would be appreciated!

    Hello @Adam McIlravey - I'll put my two cents' worth on the table since no one has replied yet...

    • Make sure you have the latest versions of browser and database drivers
      I have seen this kind of delay when a system is "thunking" using 32-bit drivers to a 64-bit environment

    • Have you created a new report to see if the same issue(s) appear?
      The date prompt should be quick to set up and test.

    • Have your network and DBA team looked at what is going to/from the server and the database?
      There could be good information if they can identify traffic that is attempting to generate the prompt page

    The problem seems to have "magically" fixed itself at least for the time being.
    My best guess, is that infrastructure did some updates which has either removed some conflicts or improved performance.

    When navigation is slow, typically it is memory issue with Environment.
