Permission to the Report with no Access (Hide) to the Folder

  • 1.  Permission to the Report with no Access (Hide) to the Folder

    Posted Wed August 19, 2020 09:33 PM
I am trying not to give access to the Folder where the report exists but want the users to be able to traverse to the Report under the Folder. I did this by not giving the appropriate permissions to the Folder but gave permissions to the Drill Through Definition Report under the Folder (by Overriding the Parent Permissions at the Report Level). This Report is not supposed to be run individually so wanted to hide this report by hiding the Folder but still want the users to be able to traverse and execute via the Parent report.

But when I give the permissions to the Report without Folder permissions user cannot be able to traverse and execute the drill through report. (Parent Report is in a different Folder) with a permission error.

Please let me know anyone has experienced this situation ?

    Thank You

    Hi Harun,

In recent versions we have added a way to set, via the portal, who can see objects.

Manage -> Configuration -> System - Advanced Properties -> Permissions filter

You can remove one of the 5 options (like Traverse) and add only Traverse to the folder for the user.

This feature is achieved via a URL to another page in other versions.

    Cheers,
    Trevor

PS; Sorry if you got this 2x it didn't seem to work the 1st time.
