    After upgrading to Chrome Version 85 the following error pops up launching Authoring. Chrome Version 84 works as expected.

    TypeError: Cannot read property 'cssRules' of null at Object._enn._60g

    IBM is currently investigating the cause of this issue. This post will be updated as more information becomes available.

    Issue is specific to CA 11.1.7

    same for me issue using 11.1.7 IF1 in combination with Chrome(Version 85.0.4183.83), Edge Chromium Beta (Version 85.0.564.36)

    No issue with Edge Chromium  (version 83.0.478.54)
    No issue with Microsoft Edge  (version 44.17763.831.0)

    Hi Jean, 

    Based on my experiences with IBM support, the only response you will get if you open a ticket is that Chrome 85 is not an officially tested version and hence you have to use whatever was the tested version :-) Chrome 85 beta was available since around late June or so and IBM could have proactively taken measures as Google had been openly posting about major changes to the version and impacts to existing applications, especially if an external application is embedded into another internal application running on a different domain.

    Thanks for sharing this info. 

    IIS configuration for samesite cookie option did not work with chrome 85, at least with the beta version we validated in July. 

    Also, the original issue in this thread is not related to samesite cookies I believe as nowhere they mentioned anything about embedding in an iFrame, isn't that true?.

    Hi Greg,
    This is a different problem to the one caused by Chrome's Samesite policies. So allow me to describe some symptoms just to get the story right for our other customers.

    This issue (Javascript issue):
    - affects 11.1.7 and 10.2.2
    - Does not affect 11.1.6 and lower and 11.0.13 stream (*and possibly lower) from what i tested
    - happens during the opening of Authoring / Reporting
    - addressed in APAR PH29011 
    Workarounds:
    none identified so far

    Samesite issue (which your workaround can help address):
    - affects all versions of cognos (and every app that requires cookie usage)
    - affects only when cognos is embedded in a website, e.g. iframes (which makes Chrome consider these are third-party cookies)
    - addressed in APAR 146262
    Workarounds:
    if client's have a website you can force cookie samesite attribute via a rewrite rule
    if client's access cognos using dispatcher, in 11.1.7, the version of Websphere Liberty Profile was updated to add support for samesite cookie attribute. (Details: PH20912)

    Reg. samesite issue, as I and few others have pointed out, the rewrite URL solution is not working with chrome 85 on IIS. Is there a blog post or best practices guide to implement this workaround that you can share? Has IBM been able to test the solution against chrome 85 and IIS to see if that solution is still valid?

    IBM friends - We would all appreciate some information on the status of a fix for this issue.​  I now have 5 clients who cannot upgrade to 11.1.7 due to this... and they really want to update to get on the "supported version"... this would go a long way to proving that this version is indeed "supported"!

    It appears to me that any browser that is based on, and is updated to the latest version of, Chromium is impacted (that includes Chrome, the beta for Edge Chromium and even off-the-beaten-path browsers like Brave).

    Just a quick note to tell us this is a priority and a fix is being worked on would be most helpful!

    I had opened a ticket because of the edge browser not working.  Support messaged me yesterday, that they have an interim fix released and that I  could download it.  Our admin, is going to download it and we will be checking it out.

     

    If you have admin capabilities, I would look for the fix.  If you don't find, it contact support.  My case number is TS004148914.

    With regards to this APAR:
    PH29011 CAN NOT CREATE NEW REPORTS AFTER UPGRADING CHROME TO VERSION 85.0.4183.83

    This is now resolved in CA 11.1.7 IF1006. This is not generally available yet so if you require this immediately you must open a support ticket and request this by adding the APAR, PH29011, to the case details and requesting CA 11.1.7 IF1006 so that you can be enabled to download the fix from IBM Fix Central.

    I actually have had an issue opening report studio in firefox.

    Our current work around is IE or Microsoft Edge.

    Good afternoon.  Just wanted to share:

    Having contacted Support and requested the interim fix, I obtained it for v11.1.7 on Windows this afternoon (about 1 hour after I requested it) and have applied that fix to 2 different environments.

    The TypeError issue has been resolved by the fix.  The testing I've done since the fix has not turned up any new errors.

    FYI - I did an update-in-place (not an uninstall/reinstall).

    I applied the fix to my Dev environment and I can't restart my Cognos services.  I've rebooted, validated the login using SSMS and even reinstalled.  I'm continuing to get the same error:

    'ContentManager', 'getActiveContentManager', 'Failure'.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Do you have multiple Server, if so order of starting/stopping may cause issue. Make sure that the primary Content Manager server is running before any other servers are brought online.

    I opened a ticket with IBM with this issue and they provided me with the Interim fix for this quickly. Below is the link for the reference. They also mentioned this was only tested on 10.2.2 FP 10 and not tested on any other FP. I still need to test this so not sure this works. will update once I test it.

    I was happy to see IBM was providing a fix but the link does not work - Also when I login to IBM site I see the same item listed and that link is also broken "No results found"

    Good news, Interim Fix (10.2.2.10-BA-CBI-IF1038) for 10.2.2 provided by IBM fixed the problem. Now we can use Chrome and Chromium Edge to Author report. We applied the Patch on top of the FP 10. Will test this for couple of days before Applying to Production
